Prescient Receives U.S. Patent for Innovative Structural Building System

Structural software and manufacturing company’s system outperforms other structural engineering methods and assemblies with cost and time savings

DENVER–Prescient, an innovative software and structural system manufacturing company, today announced it has received a U.S. patent on its new and innovative light gauge structural system consisting of a limited number of standardized light gauge steel panels and cold-rolled steel elements.

Prescient’s unique system does not employ a bearing wall type of engineering and uses no concrete or hot-rolled steel. Prescient’s framing system can be employed in buildings up to 12 stories, and it is faster, better, greener and cheaper than wood, concrete or other framing options.

“The patent is an important step forward for the company and the industry as a whole,” said John Vanker, Prescient’s CEO. “We are seeing the demand for our technology grow every day, and we expect that growth to continue as more companies in the building industry factor in the amount of time and money that can be saved by using Prescient’s innovative system.”

The Prescient system provides as much as 35 percent savings over other structural engineering methods and assemblies. As a panelized system it can be erected in a fraction of the time of other engineering assemblies on any type of foundation, including parking garages and retail and commercial podiums. The Prescient structure has significant advantages in seismic zones as well, outperforming other methods of engineering and construction with significant cost savings.

The Prescient system Patent is US No.: 8,528,294 B2.
