In order to attract students and remain competitive, more and more universities find themselves needing to add new amenities like gyms, dining halls and recreation facilities. At the same time, universities across the country are “going green” on replacements and updates, spending millions on environmentally conscious, state-of-the-art dormitories and classrooms.
For universities, the ability to manage time, reduce waste and control budgets are key factors in the decision-making process regarding construction projects. Many are embracing a new way to design and construct projects: Building Information Modeling (BIM). BIM is an intelligent model-based process that provides insight to help plan, design, construct and manage buildings and infrastructures.
