Commodity Manager

Overview/Objective Summary

The Commodity Manager is responsible for the sourcing, qualification, and relationship management of Prescient’s national network of contractors, suppliers, and vendors required to support construction operations. This position will also develop and implement scalable, documented structure at every stage of the process.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Create, document, implement, and maintain infrastructure (training materials, information and resource sourcing, installation handbooks, qualification standards, etc.), for Prescient’s national contractor, supplier, and vendor network
  • Oversee qualification and certification process of all new contractors, and be the point of contact throughout their onboarding
  • Develop scorecards and KPI’s for all internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and communication channels for lessons learned
  • Create, execute, maintain, and improve upon strategies for contractors; focus on current and future alignment of technology requirements, and achieving objectives in terms of total cost, project pipeline, capacity, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead cross business unit and cross functional teams to create and execute commodity strategies, continuous improvement, and supply projects; facilitate group collaboration and engage management as necessary.
  • Create standardized bidding process and associated documentation in accordance with Pre-construction needs
  • Educate installers on the comprehensive Prescient model through classroom training, onsite demonstrations, and deliverables
  • Support Prescient Safety/Training programs
  • Maintain communication with contractors while inactive to keep them abreast of upcoming projects, volume, and job specific requirements to ensure a capable bench is available when project bids are sent out
  • Function as the Prescient liaison to national contractor network
  • Support construction procurement for all non-Prescient purchased items to include, but not limited to stairs, balconies, commodities, heavy steel, and all other site goods

This position is responsible for construction procurement personnel

This position operates in a typical office environment.

Position Type

This is a full-time, exempt level position.

Physical Demands

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Some light walking around the office and manufacturing floor is necessary. Some travel may be required.
